Say hello to Jett, a five-month-old tri-color collie puppy who is taking the world by storm with his cuteness and cuddles. His foster family says that he loves attention and will lay in your lap and bury his head for affection. Jett really loves to be cuddled and babied. If necessary, he will compete with the resident dogs for the spotlight but he also likes to play with them and get a little rowdy.

Jett is very interested in greeting strangers and can’t wait until he is able to go out on walks and actually get to meet new people. In his current puppy phase, he is mouthy and likes to nip, so he is best suited for a family with older kids (middle school and up).

Jett has impressively learned a lot of commands during his short life, including ‘sit,’ ‘kennel up,’ ‘potty,’ ‘off,’ ‘toy,’ ‘paw,’ and ‘okay.’ While he has been a fast learner, his forever home will have some work to do with him on things like food guarding. He is currently fed in his crate to avoid any issues with the resident dogs, and his foster family is doing trust building activities with Jett to teach him that his food and treats will not be stolen away. Jett tends to be the dominant dog and is learning about doggy boundaries from the resident dogs. If his forever home has another dog, they will need to supervise him with his new brother or sister. Jett is bit nervous about riding in a car and will need someone patient to work with him.

Being so young, Jett isn’t ready to be trusted alone and will need to be monitored for chewing. A crate is important for Jett. He likes going into his crate and is very comfortable there. As soon as he hears “kennel up,” he runs in. His crate is where he eats and sleeps at night, and it’s also where he likes to hoard toys and bones. It is necessary for Jett to have is a fenced backyard to keep him safe but still allow him to explore.

When it comes to grooming, Jett doesn’t mind a little pampering. He is good for baths and he loves brushing but can be impatient when it comes to nail clipping. Jett likes to be comfy at night and prefers to sleep with fluffy pillows and blankets but he also likes to take naps on the hardwood floor where it's cool.

Jett is a big love and a fast learner! He is ready to find his forever home.
