Are you looking for an active, affectionate, happy, enthusiastic collie? Then Charlie is your boy!
At two years of age, Charlie has found himself in a rescue due to no fault of his own. He was loved and well cared for, but his family circumstances have changed considerably, and they have entrusted us to find a loving home for this sweet boy.

Charlie is a very sweet dog that truly enjoys human companionship and attention. He loves all the petting he can get. In fact, he will back up to you as an invitation to rub his rump. At times when he is resting on the floor, he will stay by his foster mom or dad touching their legs or laying on their feet. It sure keeps her feet warm!

Charlie LOVES toys and has several favorites. He will seek them out throughout the day and leave them all around the house. You’ll frequently find Charlie with a toy in his mouth trying to engage in a play session with his foster mom or with another dog. He’s also super excited when his foster mom throws a tennis ball in the yard for him. He’ll generally fetch it, but sometimes he thinks it’s a “run and chase” game and will run off with the ball in his mouth. Silly boy! Charlie’s foster mom says he’s such a goofball.

Charlie knows a few commands such as sit, down, paw, and drop it. He is a door darter, so he needs a bit of training in that area. His foster mom started working on the “wait” command as the door opens and he’s catching on fast. He does great on a leash and loves his daily walks. Charlie was bit overweight when he arrived and since then has lost a few pounds! He also likes to run and goof around in the fenced yard at his foster home, and we would like him to have a fenced yard at his forever home. Having another young and active dog as a playmate would be great as well.

Getting in a car is one of Charlie’s quirks. He can fly over two deck steps with no problem, but getting in a car is something he’s afraid of. Once in the car he rides just fine and will jump out as well. He loves food and will check the kitchen table for anything yummy he might find there, but keeping those added calories away from him is important. His forever home will need to work on those issues.

Charlie would love to find an active and loving family to call his own. This sweet boy will surely make you smile every day and keep you entertained.
