June is a joyful, friendly, curious, three-year-old rough sable. She is smart, very curious about everything, and very active. She has learned her name very quickly and the foster home routine without any trouble.

June is young and exuberant! She will come running up to her foster mom, jump up, and give kisses. Because of this, it would be best for June to not be in a home with small children or adults who may be unsteady on their feet. She would probably do well with older children who could run and play with her. It’s important though to reinforce the “off” command when she exhibits this behavior. It also helps to use the same command when she gets on the furniture. June is a delight. If she’s called while running around, she will come barreling at you and try to jump in your lap. She will put her paws on you and wash your whole face if you let her. She just loves attention from her people.

June is friendly with strangers. As happy as she is to see people, she does not like it when they raise their voices; she gets nervous.

She is currently crated when left alone. She is relaxed in her crate and sleeps in it at night, but once out of the crate, she sticks like glue to her foster parent. June is a nondestructive, quiet dog. She doesn’t even bark when the foster family dogs are barking. She will whine, however, when in the car or when she’s being ignored.

June is great with other dogs and would be fine living with medium to large canines. She likes to chase cats but might be workable with the right cat.

She has only chewed on appropriate things and has only had a couple accidents in the house.

June does well with grooming and is working on obedience training. She will come when called. She needs practice with several commands: off, sit, down, stay, etc.
Although she doesn’t pull while on leash, she does stop to investigate everything.

She needs to work on leash walking to develop good manners and consistency. June’s not crazy about car rides. She needs help and encouragement getting in and out of the car. She will whine if seated in the back seat but will do much better if crated in the car.
June loves chasing small animals and running around. A fence allows her to run fast, enjoy her zoomies, and release some energy. A fence is a must for this active girl.

Since her arrival at the foster home, June has blossomed. She needs a family that will work with her to develop her potential. Obedience and agility classes would be a good fit for June. She is a smart girl who needs positive ways to channel her energy.

June is eager to learn and eager to be loved. If June is a good match for your lifestyle, please submit an application.
