Princess is one of the sweetest dogs you’ll ever meet. She came to us after her human had to move to a nursing home. Upon arrival, she was a bit unsure of her new environment and was pacing quite a bit. But it wasn’t long before she began trusting her foster mom and settled in nicely. Princess is now seeking her foster mom’s attention several times a day. She will lean on her foster mom as her way of asking a for pets. Princess enjoys all the affection she can get.

Princess is a velcro dog and prefers to be near her humans in the same room if possible. She will make herself comfortable in one of the dog beds around the house. Princess is also happy napping in the back yard on a nice day.

Princess is a reserved, calm and friendly gal. She is a bit shy with new people until she feels comfortable enough to approach, but is good with strangers. Princess is very well mannered and does not jump on people, and is generally a quiet girl but will bark when she gets really excited. At mealtimes she will spin in circles and bark when she knows her food is coming. Adorable!

If you’re up for a walk, Princess will gladly join in. She has good leash manners and does not pull. Longer walks are a bit too much for her, but shorter ones are just what she needs. Princess was not used to stairs in her prior home, but she can now confidently do a few steps out to the yard and back; however, she is not comfortable with a full flight of stairs. Being an older gal, Princess has arthritis in her back end and spine so a home with no more than a few stairs would be ideal.

Princess’ kidneys aren’t working as well as they should and she needs to be let out more frequently to potty. Because of  that, Princess would do best in a home where someone is more available to let her out throughout the day.

Princess would do best in a quieter household with a peaceful place to take naps. She gets along well with her foster mom’s two collies, so she would do fine in a home with other dogs but would also be happy having her human’s attention all to herself; she is a Princess after all!

If you can open your heart and home to this royal beauty, she will become YOUR loyal subject.
