Brian is a fun and active one year old collie who is just starting to experience the world and all the sights and sounds it has to offer. He has been enjoying suburban living in a foster home with two adults and a dog.

Brian gets along great with other dogs and loves to play. He would like to play more with his canine foster sister but she is an older gal who doesn’t have the same energy level.  His foster mom says he is getting a bit bored. As Brian became bit more relaxed, he also started playing with his foster mom and will bark and nip at her ankles with hopes she will comply with his desire to play. He is always very happy when she comes home, whether it is after being gone for hours or just a few minutes, and gets wiggly with excitement and wants to jump. His foster mom is working with him on how to greet people politely.

Brian has learned to go up and down carpeted stairs. It took some encouragement to do this but NOW he owns it! He LOVES treats and has learned "sit" very quickly. Brian is also learning proper leash walking and working on his "give paw" command. He likes to be where his canine foster sibling is and if he sees her getting back scratches or petting, he will push his way in between asking for some attention as well.

One of Brian’s favorite things to do is to chase wildlife in the backyard so he will need a fence to ensure that he stays safe and doesn’t wander off or run when he hears a new noise.  He is good with being brushed and did well with the groomer but now this silly boy thinks the brush is a chew toy!  As he is still young, he needs to be crated for his chewing tendencies when he is alone but his crate is also a safe place for him and he will sometimes sleep in there with the door open.  Car trips are not his favorite thing to do and he will needs help getting in and out but he eventually settles down.

Brian is looking for a home that will be patient with him as he continues to encounter new sounds and new situations.  His foster mom has found that he does get nervous sometimes BUT his curiosity eventually wins out and he gives new things a try.

If Brian sounds like a good fit for your home his next new experience could be meeting you!
