Tavish is a three-year-old male with a beautiful, smooth, tri-color coat. He is an active and affectionate young dog. He loves people of all ages and will grace them with a full body snuggle. He might even nuzzle himself right onto a person’s lap!

He loves playing with other dogs. Running, chasing, tackling, and rolling are his favorite things to do with them. He also enjoys toys and a good game of fetch. Tavish readily runs after balls or sticks quickly bringing them back in order to continue the fun. He even has some experience with sheep herding.

Tavish is a smart dog and quickly learned the foster home’s routine. He knows the sit command but will need obedience training or a class in order to learn other commands. Tavish is also bit of a chewer and will sometimes pull things off the coffee table to gnaw on. However, he takes redirection really well. With patience and consistency, Tavish will quickly learn what is expected of him. He can be bit vocal when he sees something or someone moving outside and will surely let you know. But generally speaking, he is well behaved in the house.

Tavish is crated at night and when left alone for extended periods of time. The crate is his safe place. He has also been crated in the car but would do fine with a harness hooked to a seat belt. He definitely needs to be secured in the car because he loves people so much that he will climb right on top of them in the car.

Although pretty good at leash walking, Tavish will pull when he sees other dogs and people. He is so friendly that he wants to greet everyone! Working with him on “leave it” and “focus” will help lessen the pulling. His foster mom took Tavish on a run with her and thinks he would make a great jogging companion.

This energetic, playful, friendly love bug craves the attention and action that comes with family life. Tavish can fit into any family situation. From kids to other dogs, he’s happy to be a part of it all. With his love of play, a fence yard is a must.

If you’re looking for a joyful, easy-going, Velcro-like cuddler, welcome Tavish into your home!
