Here’s a gentle sweetheart with a lot of potential. Nina is a two year old blue Merle. Having come from the hoarding situation, this sweet smoothie had a rough start in life.

So much is new to this shy, quiet girl. She needs a little time to get used to new surroundings and to trust people, but once comfortable, her sweet personality is revealed. Nina is good with people, calm kids, and other dogs. She likes to stay near her foster mom and follow her around. She especially likes having people sit with her. She also likes playing with the other dog in the foster home. Watching Nina run around outside having fun is a joy to behold.

Nina is potty trained and does not chew on inappropriate things, so she can be trusted in the house alone. She walks well on a leash and has no problem climbing up and down stairs. Some loud noises can startle Nina because they are new to her. Oddly enough, though, she does fine with the vacuum cleaner and seems to be curious about it. She is not too fond of car rides and needs help getting in; once settled, she rides well. She needs some practice with basic commands, but given patience and praise, she will learn quickly.

Nina is looking for a loving, patient family that can give her the forever home she deserves. She would do great in a home with at least one other confident, playful dog that can help her become part of the pack. However, because Nina likes to savor her food and eat slowly, she might need to be separated from other dogs during meal time so they aren’t tempted to help themselves to her food.
