Meet Angel. 

Angel is a sweet, sensitive and bit shy two-year-old collie. She’s cautious with people she doesn’t know well, but once she earns your trust, she will eagerly hang out with you. Angel loves belly rubs and sitting on laps. Although small, she’s still a little big to be considered a lap dog, but that doesn’t stop her. At least once every evening, she will put her head on her foster mom’s knee and then slowly nudge and crawl her way onto her lap one paw at a time.

Angel would be happiest with another playful, confident dog that will show her that new people and new places aren’t that scary after all. Angel loves other dogs and plays hard with two resident dogs her size. She attempts to sniff the cats and to gently encourage them to play with her but has only met with marginal success.

She is a lean, active, playful dog, and she enjoys playing with dogs she trusts. Angel never turns down a meal or a treat. She is always eager to eat and will guard her food from her litter mate but not from the other resident dog. For that reason she is always fed in her crate. Her crate is a positive place for her, and she doesn’t hesitate to enter it. She stays there when her foster mom is gone.

Angel is a very sensitive collie that reacts to mild verbal reprimands with submissiveness. She needs a person who will encourage her to complete tasks utilizing praise and positive reinforcement. She loves her people and is eager to please, and because she loves treats, she’s very trainable. Angel has learned her name, go to bed, and kennel. She is working on the sit command but is not consistent just yet. She also needs to learn proper leash walking manners.

For her safety, a fenced yard is absolutely necessary. Angel is startled by new sounds and is reactive towards activity outside the fence. She will run the fence line chasing cars and squirrels on the other side. Overall, Angel is a quiet dog, but she will alert you if any people or dogs are outside the fence.

This angel doesn’t have wings, but she does have a fluffy ruff, a sweet disposition, a playful nature, and a lot of love to give her forever people. She just might be the perfect angel for you.
