Meet Luke 💙
Over the past four weeks in foster care, Luke’s personality has blossomed more each day. He’s a sensitive, happy, affectionate, and energetic boy who absolutely adores his people. Whether you’ve been gone all day or just stepped into another room, Luke greets you with pure joy every time.

He loves quick cuddles with his humans, but he’s just as happy playing with toys or romping around with another active, playful dog. In fact, Luke truly thrives with a canine companion.

When Luke first arrived, he was scared and unsure of his surroundings. But with patience (and help from his resident collie buddy), he’s made great progress and is now comfortable, curious, and happy in his foster home. Watching his confidence grow has been amazing.

Luke enjoys spending time outside, exploring the yard, and taking in all the sights and smells. He’s very observant and a bit of an investigator. He will investigate small gaps underneath the fence, jump on a bench if something there sparks his interest, explore what’s on the outdoor table or enjoy himself on the outdoor sofa (if allowed). After a quick cuddle with his foster parents, he’s back to investigating the yard permitter, playing around or laying down on the grass and relaxing. His recall is still a work in progress; he can get distracted easily and just ignore his foster mom’s calls. To keep him safe, a secure fenced yard is a must—no exceptions.

He’s playful and sometimes a little comical, especially with his toys (some soft ones don’t always last long 😄). While he enjoys affection, he can get a bit jumpy when excited, so continued training will help him polish his manners.
Luke prefers being near his people and does best in a home where he can be part of the daily routine, with plenty of time for play, companionship, and relaxation. He doesn’t like being crated but he’s just fine when gated off in a kitchen or laundry room while his people away for extended period of time, taking a break or sleeping there at night. That’s his routine.

Luke’s ideal home:
🐾 Another young, playful, and friendly dog
🏡 A secure fenced yard (required)
🕰️ A family who’s home more often than not
👨‍👩‍👧 Adult-only home (not tested with cats or young children)
🎓 Someone willing to continue training (leash skills & recall)

Luke already knows “sit” and takes treats gently (though he can be a bit picky!). He’s a sweet, sensitive and loving boy who just needs some confidence boosting activities, to be with his people and enjoy life.
