Dog #2026-008
Meet Lassy
Lassy is a 6-year-old Rough Collie with a confident, easygoing personality and a solid “ready for life” attitude. She came into rescue after her owner passed away.
She settled into a multi-dog home quickly and respectfully, living with a senior Collie, greyhound, and young coonhound. She reads other dogs well, enjoys group play, and adjusts her style to keep things balanced and fun. She’s social, friendly, and not one to start trouble.

In the home, Lassy is well-mannered and comfortable in a crate (she goes in willingly, especially when meals are involved). She may bark briefly when people leave but then settles. Lassy is food-motivated and eats with enthusiasm, but no food guarding has been noted. She’s not bothered by common household noises like vacuums or thunderstorms. She also enjoys downtime and will happily nap on the sofa during the day.
Outside, she’s curious and engaged with her environment and does best in a fenced yard where she can explore safely and respond well to recall. Lassy is affectionate and responsive to her person, especially when called with enthusiasm—she’ll happily come running. Leash walking is still a work in progress; she can be distracted by scents and movement, but she’s intelligent and very trainable with consistency. Car rides are easy—no motion sickness or stress behavior noted.
She’s been great with dogs and polite with cats in the home. With people, she is friendly, relaxed, and comfortable meeting strangers, including children.
Ideal home:
A moderately active home willing to continue leash training. She’d do especially well in a home with other dogs or older kids to engage with, but she’s also independent enough to enjoy calm time. A fenced yard is recommended.
Lassy is the kind of dog who quietly becomes part of your heart before you even realize it—steady, loving, and always happy to be by your side. If you’re looking for a loyal companion to share both your everyday moments and your adventures, Lassy is ready to come home and make your life a little brighter.
