Meet Rio
Rio is a resilient 5-year-old mahogany sable who has overcome great hardship before finding safety with CRGI. Previously living on a farm with many other dogs, he endured neglect and severe parasite infestations, arriving covered in fleas and an astonishing number of ticks. Despite all he’s been through, Rio’s gentle spirit has never wavered.
Unfamiliar with collars or leashes before coming into rescue, Rio initially approached these new experiences with understandable hesitation. With time and patience, he has steadily learned to trust the kind hands that care for him. Though naturally shy and quiet, he shows his gratitude with soft tail wags and gentle kisses once he feels secure. His foster mom says he’s an incredibly sweet and loving boy.
