Why fostering matters

Every collie who comes into rescue needs a calm, loving environment to decompress and rebuild confidence. Foster families provide daily structure, share observations about personality and needs, and help us match dogs with the right adopters.

We supply the support

• CRGI covers approved veterinary care, medications, and preventatives.
• We provide food, crates, collars, and other essentials as needed.
• Volunteers are on call for questions about training, medical care, and behavior.
• You’ll be part of a network of experienced foster families cheering you on.

What we ask of fosters

• Offer consistent routines, gentle structure, and affection.
• Transport your foster dog to vet visits or adoption meetings when possible.
• Provide honest feedback about the dog’s temperament and progress.
• Help us introduce the dog to potential adopters (in person or virtually).
