Meet Kyle, a big, goofy puppy at heart! He's a curious and playful boy who loves to explore the world. He’s a happy, affectionate smoothie who enjoys tagging along with his foster mom and playing with resident dogs.

Kyle gets along with other dogs and would thrive with an active playful canine buddy that can take his puppy-like shenanigans. With the energy of a one-year-old, he still plays hard and would not be suited for a senior dog. He’s just a bit cautious when meeting strangers but warms up quickly for petting. Kyle’s foster mom started to work with him on basic obedience and he's already learned his name and “sit,” and he’s working on learning what's okay to chew along with many other things. Kyle loves his yummy teats which is a big motivator while learning new commands.

Kyle is enthusiastic and loves to show you his affection by giving collie nibbles; he just needs a little reminder to be a bit more gentle. A simple “ouch” will usually stop him in his tracks. Being a herding breed, he certainly lives up to his reputation. Once he sees legs moving, he’ll excitedly follow them and give them nibbles. When Kyle gets excited, he will jump on his people with happiness; his foster mom discourages that and he needs reminders. Kyle will run through your legs when he’s having fun or lean on you when asking for pets.

He sleeps well in his crate at night but prefers not to be confined during the day. A gated area might work best when he's home alone. Outside, Kyle is still working on overcoming nervousness about unfamiliar noises like delivery trucks, new sounds, and kids playing, but he has made great progress. Leash walks can be stressful for Kyle right now, so he’ll need continued gentle guidance and training.
Kyle needs a patient family that is home more often than not and is committed to his training and will help him grow into a better canine citizen. A fenced yard is necessary for his safety as he’s still learning recall and can be easily spooked outdoors.
